Irfanview

I am a big fan of Photoshop, who isn’t? I use Photoshop for everything from actual photo editing, billboard design, paper advertisement, and a little graphic web design. Needless to say I am very comfortable with PS and it has a lot to offer. I do use Picasa for some quick photo editing (ie: rotating, red eye, black & white, & sepia). I have found myself taking a lot of screen shots either for work or ihelpstupidpeople, and PS takes forever to open. I tried Gimp and its slow as well, so I was using MS Paint for screen shots MS PAINT! So I went searching for a quick opening photo editor, I wanted the ability to easily crop, draw, and save in several formats.

Well I have came across Irfanview and just fell in love with it! It opens super fast, saves in 11 formats, cuts/crops, has a drawing toolbar, and batch converts. Did I mention it opens super fast! Oh and best of all its freeware. Its so light, after installing you can move the program files folder to you jump drive under portable apps and use it on any computer from your jump drive. So if you find yourself waiting for PS to load or heaven forbid using MS Paint for screen shots you should try out Irfanview.
