03.20IE 8 Beta 1
Let me start off by saying I have to use IE at work because my intranet interface doesn’t seem to work with anything else. That being said, I decided to try out IE8 Beta 1 after my IE7 had crashed 6 times that day. After installing I thought I’d take it for a test run on some of the most popular websites. I didn’t uncover to many problems at first, but I did run across a couple. Here is a quick rundown of a few of the problems I found:
- Craigslist (a city’s home page was a little out of whack but no big deal)
- Google Maps (this was all screwed up, not usable at all)
- eBay (while trying to scroll though some auctions w/ a scroll wheel, it kept bumping me back to the top of the page “very annoying”)
- Google Toolbar 3 (this made IE crash right away, I had to remove it from my active toolbars)
- MSN (this if kinda funny, there is a format bug in the rotating image that display’s “more on MSN”)
There were also some problems of different pages with fly out menus and images that their size is specified in html. On the plus side they added some new features like session restore (like Firefox has) webslices, and an IE7 emulator. Why would anyone want to emulate IE7? All in all I didn’t have any problem with IE8 that I’m sure they wont fix. As long as it doesn’t crash I’ll be happy!!!
PS. This article was written from Firefox 3 Beta 4.

Internet Explorer 8 is more stable than IE 7 that is why i like it. I always experience freezing browser window in IE 7.

Internet Explorer 8 is superb in my opinion. this browser has been very stable on my PC even if i open 30+ windows at a time when multi-tasking.
